Certifications
Audited, and by whom.
A mark is easy to display and hard to read. A certification is only worth the scope it was issued for, so each of these carries its number, its issuer and the date it runs to. Three of them download from this page as the certificate itself; the rest are one email away.

The product
OEKO-TEX MADE IN GREEN

The traceable product label, and the one worth understanding first, because it is not a claim on its own — it is only issued where the article has passed STANDARD 100 testing and the facility that made it holds STeP. A buyer can enter the label ID on oeko-tex.com and see where the towel in their hand was made.

- at oeko-tex.com — the label ID is the point. You do not have to take our word for any of this.
OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100
Every component of the finished article tested for substances known to be harmful to health — yarn, thread, dye, finish, down to the sewn-in label — with limits tightening the closer the article sits to skin. For a towel, that is the entire product.

Egyptian Cotton — Accredited Gold Seal

A licence to describe cotton as Egyptian. That is a claim about origin rather than quality, and one made routinely without grounds; here the origin is verifiable through purchase invoices, and the Cotton Egypt Association can ask to see them.

The mill
These are about how the building is run rather than what leaves it, which is why they carry a scope. Ours reads: manufacturing and supply of bath towels, hand towels, wash towels, wash mitts, bathmats, beach towels, bathrobes and jersey sheet sets.
OEKO-TEX STeP
Sustainable Textile Production — an audit of the plant itself: chemical management, environmental performance, working conditions, health and safety, quality management. It is the half of MADE IN GREEN that a product test cannot cover. The audited facility also meets ZDHC MRSL 3.1, which is the restricted-substance list a brand's chemical team will ask about by name.
- Certificate
- 24000321 · Hohenstein · valid to 31 January 2029
- Scope
- Weaving, knitting, dyeing and making up of terry products and jersey sheets
ISO 9001:2015 — quality management
The management system behind every other claim on this site. It is why a shade tolerance or an inspection level is a procedure with records rather than a habit.
- Certificate
- SCC/2601SE/3127 · QFS Management Systems LLP, accredited by the Standards Council of Canada · valid to 29 January 2029, subject to annual surveillance
ISO 14001:2015 — environmental management
The system behind the effluent plant, the husk-fired boilers and the water figures on our sustainability page. Certified management is what turns those from facts into a practice.
- Certificate
- SCC/2411SE/2489 · QFS Management Systems LLP · valid to 12 November 2027, subject to annual surveillance
Fibre and chain of custody
GOTS — Global Organic Textile Standard

Organic fibre tracked through every stage of processing, rather than certified once at the farm and assumed thereafter. It is a chain-of-custody standard, which is why the mill has to hold it: a certified bale does not make a certified towel.
GRS — Global Recycled Standard

Recycled content verified along the chain of custody, with social and environmental criteria applied at every site that handles the material.
RCS — Recycled Claim Standard

Tracks recycled material through the chain and stops there. A buyer asking for recycled content will usually say which of the two they mean; GRS is the one that also asks how the site is run.
OCS — Organic Content Standard
Tracks how much organic fibre is in the finished article, without GOTS's processing requirements. Useful where the answer needed is a percentage rather than a process.
People
SA8000

A labour standard, audited on site: working hours, wages, freedom of association, health and safety, and no child or forced labour. It is the one a retail compliance team asks for by name, because it is about the people in the building rather than the cloth.
Sedex — member

Not a certification, and we do not show it as one. Sedex is the platform members use to share audit results, so ours are visible to your compliance team without a separate request.
The certificates
Three are on this page to download, above: OEKO-TEX STeP, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. The MADE IN GREEN label is better checked at source than downloaded — enter M2DP5D6N5 on oeko-tex.com and it comes from them rather than from us.
The rest we will send on request, usually the same day. If something you need is not here at all, ask — it is a straight answer either way.
